Dry Fried Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 Shallot, sliced thin
  • 1 whole cinnamon stick
  • Peel of ½ orange
  • 2 oz chinese bbq pork, sliced thin
  • ¼ cup peanut oil
  • 1 lb green beans
  • ½ teaspoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chili paste

Directions

  1. In a small bowl add together the honey and soy sauce. Set aside.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil and toss in beans to blanche (about 5 minutes).
  3. While the beans are blanching, heat up peanut oil in wok until just smoking.
  4. Add in shallot, cinnamon, orange peel, and ham. Crisp up in pan until some browning begins.
  5. Add in blanched beans and fry for 1 minute
  6. Stir in honey-soy sauce and chili paste. Stir to coat. Cook for 1 more minute and serve!
