Del Christensen and Sons

The Christensen Family came to Washington State in 1932 to homestead in the Kittitas Valley. In the 1950’s the four sons moved to Royal Slope in Eastern Washington to farm. This is where Del Christensen was born and raised. In the 1970’s Del’s father purchased ground in the Wahluke Slope when the irrigation water from the Columbia River was made available. In the early 1980’s Del and his young family moved to Wahluke Slope to continue in the family farming tradition. He built his first potato packing shed, Wahluke Produce later renamed Del Christensen and Sons, in 1987 which burned down in 2001. They rebuilt from the ashes a new potato packing shed. In 2008 he expanded his packing operations to include onions. The Del Christensen family continues to carry on the tradition of vertically integrated product by growing, packing and shipping their own product.
